IN ENORMOUS WATER
This is a chapbook, only 27 pages.
I wrote my first poem when I was five and by the time In Enormous Water came out, published by the Cleveland State University, where I was teaching, I had had many individual poems published in periodicals, but nothing that looked like a book. My photographer friend spent many hours on the banks of Lake Erie waiting for the right light for shooting the cover.
Some of the poems relate to the same subject matter as found in The Mama Stories--Jewish immigrant working class--and have been gathered into an as yet unpublished manuscript called "Three Thousand Years After Egypt." Other poems found their way into Set Down Here and Inwit.
